Legal & Beta Terms
Effective date: October 4, 2026 · Version: 2026-10-04
Beta legal draft: These terms are written for the current private beta. They should be reviewed by a Florida attorney before BobSolarAI begins accepting payments.
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, activating Solar Dash, or participating in the beta, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. Contact BobSolarAI through the signed-in Community Forum or the support channel provided with your account.
2. Private beta program
- Use the beta only on solar equipment you own or are authorized to monitor.
- Use supported Raspberry Pi and Victron hardware and provide accurate setup details, including battery voltage and capacity.
- Report installation problems, incorrect readings, security concerns, and other bugs through the Community Forum.
- The beta may contain errors, change without notice, or be temporarily unavailable. Features and compatibility are not guaranteed.
- Do not sell, publish, copy, redistribute, or share the beta package or activation code.
- A complimentary local Solar Dash license may be awarded after good-faith beta participation. Remote viewing is a separate service and may require a subscription after launch.
3. Software license
BobSolarAI grants an approved tester a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use the beta on one activated Raspberry Pi. Ownership of the software and related intellectual property remains with BobSolarAI. You may not bypass licensing or security, remove notices, reverse engineer the software except where law expressly permits it, or use it to provide a competing service. Hardware replacement requires an owner-approved license reset.
4. Privacy
BobSolarAI may collect your name, email address, password hash, account status, license and device identifiers, current solar telemetry, available history, forum posts, support messages, and security or connection logs. Raw account passwords are not stored.
This information is used to authenticate accounts, enforce one-device licensing, provide dashboards and support, diagnose problems, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. BobSolarAI does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers needed to operate the service or when required by law.
Records are kept while an account is active and afterward only as reasonably needed for security, support, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Request access, correction, or deletion through the signed-in Community Forum or provided support channel. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
5. Remote support
Remote access is allowed only after you explicitly authorize a support session. Access should be limited to what is needed to diagnose or repair the reported issue, and you may end permission at any time. BobSolarAI will not require public router port forwarding. You remain responsible for backups and for reviewing changes made during support.
6. Solar and electrical safety
Solar Dash is independent, read-only monitoring software. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Victron Energy, is not a safety device, and must not control electrical equipment. Values may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on Solar Dash for emergency, battery-protection, life-safety, or equipment-protection decisions. Follow manufacturer instructions and use a qualified electrician for installation and electrical work.
7. Future paid remote service
The beta does not automatically become a paid subscription. Before any charge, BobSolarAI will separately show the price, billing frequency, renewal terms, included service, and cancellation method and will obtain express agreement. Ending a future remote-viewing subscription will not disable a fully earned local Solar Dash license.
Cancellation will stop future recurring charges and remote service will continue through the paid period unless stated otherwise at checkout. Except where law requires otherwise, used billing periods are not refundable; duplicate or unauthorized charges will be reviewed. Purchases through an app store may also be subject to that store’s billing and refund rules.
8. Accounts, suspension, and deletion
Keep account credentials and activation codes private. You are responsible for activity under your account. BobSolarAI may suspend or revoke beta access for sharing, misuse, security threats, unlawful activity, or material breach of these terms. You may request account closure and deletion through support; limited records may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required.
9. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by law, beta software and services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or compatibility. BobSolarAI is not responsible for electrical work, equipment configuration, lost solar production, battery damage, or decisions made from displayed data. Nothing here excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Changes and governing law
Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, when appropriate, presented for renewed acceptance. These terms are governed by Florida law, without overriding consumer protections that apply where you live. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue.
